About me!
I have over 15 years of experience in business, accounting, finance, and tax from various industries including non-profit, for-profit, government/military, higher education, and healthcare. I have served as a Controller for small and large organizations (up to 500 million annual gross revenue). I previously served in the military as a medic in the Navy, but I decided to go into accounting/finance after my service.
My prior experience includes business management, strategy and planning, payroll processing, accounting/bookkeeping, data analytics, internal control development, policy and procedure development, budget management, financial statement preparation, and taxation. I have implemented and used several accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, and NetSuite. I have implemented and used accounts payable/expense management systems such as Bill.com and Certify.
I hold a license as a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado. I am a Certified Fraud Examiner (member of ACFE) and a public notary in Colorado. I hold two master's degrees: Master of Accountancy (specialization in financial accounting) and Master of Business Administration (focus in finance). I am also a ProAdvisor QuickBooks Online certified.
